Choosing A Wedding Favor

Getting the right wedding favor can be a difficult task, there’s no doubt about it. Not only have you got to try and pick something that hundreds of people will like and enjoy, but you’ve got to do it at a price that won’t break the bank and your wedding budget! If you go for a simple, traditional favor like a sugar cube or suigared almond then this isn’t such a problem, but if you try to get something more exotic like a bamboo wedding favor then you could run into monetary problems before you get to the wedding.

So does this mean you should give up on wedding favors? Even simple gifts like a single chocolate can be very welcome from your guests, and it is becoming more and more expeted of the couple to provide a favor. However it is safe to say that no one will complain if you don’t have wedding favors, so the choice is completely up to you! If we’re honest, whether you have favors or not isn’t going to affect whether you make to your 25th wedding anniversary or not, that’s for sure.

If you are really strapped for cash but do definitely want to get a wedding favor for your guests, then it may be an idea to get a small gift for each table at the reception rather than one for each and every guest. This means the favors can be more substantial, but of course it isn’t ideal as only a small percentage of your guests will actually be able to keep them.

A good wedding favor in a perfect world would be one that each guest treasures and keeps. In reality, this isn’t always possible, so don’t get too hung up on whether your guests will treasure the faor or not, just make sure they are welcome at the time to help with the mood of the wedding.
